Peoria County Sustainability Plan
Peoria County Approves Sustainability Plan
On August 11, 2011 the Peoria County Board unanimously approved their first sustainability plan. This plan was developed by County staff from a number of departments, an elected official, and citizen representatives from the environmental community. The process was deliberative and focuses on the County’s internal operations. We are very proud of the role that Global Warming Solutions of Central Illinois played in encouraging this process to be initiated, and in helping to get the plan developed. We plan to stay engaged to ensure that the plan is executed and the benefits are realized. Also, the board has indicated it wants to go further and expand this plan to reach out into the community to drive sustainability throughout the County, so we will be there to help with this.
